About the role#
BDO USA is hiring a Tax Intern for our Core Tax Services team for the Summer 2028 term. This role is based on-site in Dallas, Texas. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions while gaining hands-on experience in accounting practices.
What you'll do#
- Help clients comply with tax authorities while minimizing their tax burdens.
- Prepare simple tax returns using tax software applications.
- Complete tasks and organize files to minimize the need for rework.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Monitor tax law and client developments on a regular basis.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
- Assist with the projection of year-end filings and components of income tax provisions.
- Use research tools to help develop methods that maximize client benefits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- A preference for those pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
