About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to assist with audit engagements and problem-solving. This internship provides hands-on experience with firm practices while allowing you to build professional relationships. You will participate in a structured training program designed to help you apply your educational background to real-world client work.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
- Become familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist during various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and complete an assigned research project to present to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is a Masters degree in Accounting.
