About the role#
BDO USA is hiring a Tax Intern for our Core Tax Services team for the Winter 2028 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Dallas, Texas. You will work under the supervision of experienced tax professionals to prepare returns and extensions while gaining hands-on experience with firm practices.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with all applicable tax authorities.
- Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework by reviewers.
- Use tax software to complete simple tax returns.
- Assist in the projection of year-end filings.
- Prepare quarterly estimates and extensions.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Perform research using online tools and monitor tax law developments.
- Apply firm policies regarding income tax provisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- A preference for those pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
