About the role#
As a Tax Intern specializing in Partnerships, you will develop your technical expertise by assisting with partnership-specific tax items, including 704(b) and taxable income allocations, tax capital account maintenance, liability analysis, and tax receivable agreement calculations. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide coaching and direction on a variety of partnership taxation issues, supporting both BDO clients and internal service teams.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Assist in developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits and decrease tax liabilities.
- Utilize online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
- Monitor tax law and client developments on a regular basis.
- Take initiative on impending due dates and assist with year-end filing projections.
- Organize files and documentation to ensure accuracy and minimize rework.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting or Finance.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to sit for the CPA exam.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
