Assurance Intern, Technology Risk Assurance

About the role#

As a Technology Risk Assurance Intern at BDO USA, you will work alongside experienced team members to solve problems and assist our client base. This internship provides hands-on experience in IS audit principles and internal controls, allowing you to build professional relationships and gain insight into the firm's practices.

What you'll do#

• Document and test application and automated controls across various software packages.
• Assist in preparing audit reports and recommendations based on IS audit work.
• Participate in the review of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
• Conduct client interviews to gather relevant information for non-complex engagements.
• Perform walkthroughs of client controls and prepare necessary workpapers.
• Apply IS audit principles and guidelines to client environments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client management and personnel.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Preferred: Pursuing a Master's degree in Information Systems or a relevant advanced field.
• Preferred: Prior internship or work-study experience in information systems and operational auditing.
• Preferred: Past leadership experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions from the Assurance Team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as necessary.
