About the role#
As a Tax Intern specializing in Partnerships, you will develop your technical knowledge by assisting with complex partnership taxation tasks. You will work alongside experienced team members, receiving coaching and direction on issues such as 704(b) and taxable income allocations, tax capital account maintenance, liability analysis, and tax receivable agreement calculations. This role supports BDO clients both directly and through collaboration with internal client service teams.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Assist in developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits and decrease tax liabilities.
- Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information and monitor tax law developments.
- Assist in the projection of year-end filings.
- Organize files and documentation to ensure accuracy and minimize the need for rework.
- Take initiative on impending filing deadlines and ensure data is collected to meet requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting or Finance.
- Actively pursuing school credits required to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, follow instructions, and maintain a positive, learning-oriented attitude.
- Developing analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
