About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to support our client base. This role involves preparing tax returns and extensions while gaining hands-on experience with firm practices. You will contribute to client service teams and begin building professional relationships within the accounting field.
What you'll do#
- Help clients comply with tax authorities while working to minimize their reporting burdens.
- Use tax software to prepare simple tax returns for review.
- Prepare quarterly estimates and extensions.
- Monitor tax law and client developments regularly to identify potential impacts.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Help develop methods to maximize client benefits through tax reduction.
- Assist with components of income tax provisions and year-end filing projections.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
