About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work with our audit teams to gain hands-on experience in the accounting industry. You will assist with fact-finding and problem-solving while working alongside experienced professionals who provide coaching and direction. This role is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Learn BDO audit methodology and apply it to various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with client contacts, including banks and creditors, regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
- Complete one assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
- Contribute ideas to your team and respond to the views of others.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A Masters degree in Accounting and prior leadership experience are preferred.
