About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with our audit teams. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding for our clients while working alongside experienced professionals who provide coaching and direction. This internship offers a chance to build relationships and learn about our firm's practices.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Become familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and respond to other team members.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting and previous leadership experience are preferred.
