About the role#
The Tax Intern, Core Tax Services, will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to support the firm's client base. This role provides hands-on experience in tax practices and the opportunity to develop professional relationships within the accounting field.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with tax authorities while working to minimize tax and reporting burdens.
- Utilize tax software to complete simple tax returns and prepare quarterly estimates and extensions.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Support the projection of year-end filings and components of income tax provisions.
- Monitor tax law and client developments, communicating relevant findings to the client service team.
- Assist in developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits and decrease tax liabilities.
- Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
- A masters degree in Accounting or a relevant field is preferred.
