Tax Intern, Core Tax Services - Summer 2027

About the role#

The Tax Intern, Core Tax Services, will utilize their educational background and organizational skills to support the firm's client base. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, this role involves preparing tax returns and extensions, providing a hands-on perspective on firm practices and the opportunity to build professional relationships.

What you'll do#

• Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
• Work with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review.
• Prepare quarterly estimates and extensions, and assist with responses to IRS notices.
• Assist with the projection of year-end filings and components of income tax provisions.
• Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
• Develop and recommend methods to maximize client benefits.
• Monitor tax law and client developments to communicate potential impacts to the service team.
• Organize files and complete tasks to minimize the need for reviewer rework.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits required to become a CPA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to follow directions, work effectively in a team, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
