About the role#
The Tax Intern, Core Tax Services, will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions. This summer internship provides hands-on experience in tax practices and the opportunity to build professional relationships within the firm.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with authorities while working to minimize tax and reporting burdens.
- Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework during the review process.
- Utilize tax software to prepare simple tax returns.
- Perform quarterly estimates and assist with the preparation of tax extensions.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Support the projection of year-end filings and assist with income tax provision components.
- Conduct research using online tools to monitor tax law and client developments.
- Develop and communicate viewpoints to the client service team regarding how tax developments may impact clients.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
