About the role#
The Tax Intern, Core Tax Services, will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to support our client base. This role provides hands-on experience in tax preparation and firm practices while helping you build professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Work with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
- Organize files and complete tasks to minimize rework by reviewers.
- Monitor tax law and client developments, communicating relevant insights to the client service team.
- Assist with income tax provisions and components of tax accruals.
- Use online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or a relevant field (Master's degree pursuit preferred).
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
