Tax Intern, Core Tax Services - Summer 2027

About the role#

The Tax Intern, Core Tax Services, will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions. This summer internship provides hands-on experience in tax practices and the opportunity to build professional relationships within the firm.

What you'll do#

• Ensure client compliance with authorities while working to minimize tax and reporting burdens.
• Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework during the review process.
• Utilize tax software to prepare simple tax returns.
• Perform quarterly estimates and assist with the preparation of tax extensions.
• Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
• Support the projection of year-end filings and assist with income tax provision components.
• Conduct research using online tools to monitor tax law and client developments.
• Develop and communicate viewpoints to the client service team regarding how tax developments may impact clients.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
• Preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
