About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to support our client engagements. This role provides hands-on experience with audit practices while allowing you to build professional relationships. You will receive coaching and direction as you apply your academic background to real-world tasks.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Assist with various stages of the audit process by learning BDO specific audit methodology.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements and document work using firm tools.
- Communicate with client contacts, including customers, banks, and creditors, regarding audit issues.
- Complete an accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
- Contribute ideas to the audit team and engage with colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting or those with prior leadership experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Anchorage, Alaska.
