About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to assist with audit engagements. This role provides hands-on experience with firm practices and offers the opportunity to build professional relationships while applying your academic background to real-world client work.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology to support various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements, including preparing and documenting work in working papers.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Contribute ideas and opinions to audit teams.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting (Masters degree pursuit is preferred).
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, work effectively in a team, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
