About the role#
This internship provides a hands-on perspective on the audit process at BDO USA. You will work alongside experienced team members to solve problems and gather facts. The role focuses on learning our firm practices while building professional relationships. You will participate in a structured training program to gain experience in a professional accounting environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in structured training to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO specific methodology.
- Support audit staff during client engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm templates and tools.
- Complete an assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A preference for those pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting.
- A preference for candidates with prior leadership experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, follow directions, and communicate clearly.
