About the role#
The Tax Intern for Core Tax Services will gain hands-on experience in tax preparation and firm operations. You will support our client base by preparing returns and extensions while working under the guidance of experienced tax professionals. This internship provides an opportunity to develop professional relationships and gain insight into the accounting industry.
What you'll do#
- Ensure clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Work with tax software applications to complete simple tax returns for review.
- Assist in the projection of year-end filings, perform quarterly estimates, and prepare extensions.
- Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
- Monitor tax law and client factual developments on a regular basis.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service and support components of income tax provisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
