Tax Intern, Core Tax Services - Summer 2027

About the role#

The Tax Intern, Core Tax Services, will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to support our client base. This role offers a hands-on perspective on firm practices and provides an opportunity to build professional relationships while utilizing your educational background in a practical setting.

What you'll do#

• Ensure clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
• Utilize tax software applications to complete simple tax returns for review.
• Assist in the projection of year-end filings, perform quarterly estimates, and prepare extensions.
• Operate online research tools to gather pertinent tax information.
• Monitor tax law and client developments on a regular basis and communicate findings to the client service team.
• Assist with responses to Internal Revenue Service notices and support components of income tax provisions.
• Organize files and documentation to ensure compliance with filing requirements and minimize rework.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting or a relevant field (Master’s degree pursuit preferred).
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
