About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will gain hands-on experience in tax compliance and consulting. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions, assist with client service, and support the firm's efforts to minimize tax burdens for clients. This summer 2027 internship provides an opportunity to develop professional relationships and gain insight into public accounting practices.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Prepare simple tax returns, quarterly estimates, and extensions using tax software.
- Organize files and documentation to ensure efficiency and minimize rework.
- Assist with responses to Internal Revenue Service notices and support year-end filing projections.
- Research tax law developments and communicate potential impacts to the client service team.
- Assist with income tax provisions and apply firm policies regarding tax accruals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow specific instructions.
- A Master's degree in Accounting or a relevant field and prior leadership experience are preferred.
