About the role#
The Tax Intern for Core Tax Services will utilize their educational background and organizational skills to assist the firm's client base. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, interns will gain hands-on experience with firm practices while beginning to build professional relationships. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while working to minimize tax and reporting burdens.
- Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework by reviewers.
- Utilize tax software applications to complete simple tax returns.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
- Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Assist with components of income tax provisions and projections of year-end filings.
- Operate online research tools to gather tax information and monitor tax law developments.
- Develop and communicate viewpoints regarding tax law changes to the client service team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting or a relevant field is preferred.
