About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work with experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions. This role provides a hands-on perspective of our firm practices and allows you to build professional relationships while applying your academic background to real client work.
What you'll do#
- Ensure client compliance with tax authorities while minimizing tax burdens.
- Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework by reviewers.
- Use tax software to prepare simple tax returns.
- Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
- Assist with responses to Internal Revenue Service notices.
- Research tax information and monitor law developments to communicate findings to the client service team.
- Assist with income tax provisions and year-end filing projections.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
