About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in our audit practice. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding while beginning to build professional relationships. This role provides an opportunity to apply your educational background to support our client engagements.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology to assist in various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to audit teams and respond to team member perspectives.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A masters degree in Accounting and leadership experience are preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team setting.
