About the role#
The Hill offers an editorial internship providing exposure to national politics and Congress. Interns participate in a professional news environment, contributing to stories that appear on The Hill website and in print.
What you'll do#
- Write and report on news stories.
- Assist reporters with ongoing projects.
- Attend assignments at the Capitol and within the halls of Congress.
- Manage various clerical duties.
- Provide support at events hosted by The Hill.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated ability to write and report effectively.
- Experience working under deadline pressure.
- Familiarity with national politics.
- Strong clerical skills.
- Ability to assist at professional events.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Journalism, Communications, Political Science, English, or Media Studies.

- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Full-time, paid position at $18.40 per hour.
- Note: The company covers in-town travel expenses for work assignments, but interns are responsible for their own lodging and travel.
