About the role#
This internship provides an introduction to the professional broadcast journalism industry at KSN. The position is designed for students in the early to middle stages of their collegiate careers who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a newsroom environment. This is an unpaid position intended to be completed in conjunction with a degree-based program for college credit.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and work alongside producers, photographers, reporters, and members of the digital team.
- Gain experience in writing, researching, photojournalism, video editing, and producing newscasts.
- Work 2-3 shifts per week, totaling 16-25 hours per week for up to 15 weeks.
- Complete all necessary documentation required by your institution to receive academic credit.
- Participate in a final written evaluation conducted by your internship supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, with a focus on Journalism or Communications.
- Moderate skill level to handle the complexity of assigned projects.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Fluency in English; bilingual skills in Spanish are considered a plus.
- Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.

- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Hours vary and may include weekends, evenings, or early mornings to accommodate the nature of news production; schedules will be coordinated to respect your academic commitments.
