About the role#
NewsNation is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term to support editorial newsgathering and production. This paid internship offers hands-on experience at a national cable news network. Selected interns will work within a bureau, on a production team, or with a specific program. Participants will also attend training sessions and workshops focused on the editorial, business, programming, and technical operations of a 24-hour news organization.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research for news segments.
- Pitch story ideas to the editorial team.
- Identify and contact prospective guests.
- Source video content from social media platforms.
- Perform desktop video editing.
- Create graphics and write scripts.
- Shadow professionals across various editorial positions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Major in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field like production, marketing, or public relations.
- A self-motivated work ethic and the ability to function as a team player.
- Openness to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
