About the role#
NewsNation is offering a paid internship for the Fall 2026 term. This program provides undergraduate and graduate students with hands-on experience at a national cable news network. Interns will work within specific programs, bureaus, or production teams to support editorial newsgathering and production efforts. The program includes workshops and training sessions focused on the editorial, business, and technological operations of a 24-hour news organization.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research for news segments.
- Pitch original story ideas.
- Identify and contact prospective guests.
- Source video content from social media platforms.
- Perform desktop video editing.
- Create graphics and write scripts.
- Shadow professionals in various editorial roles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, preferably in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Public Health.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Openness to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.

- Compensation: $16.60 per hour.
