About the role#
KATV in Little Rock is looking for News Interns for the Winter 2027 term. This is an unpaid, part-time opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain experience in a professional newsroom. You will learn how news is produced from start to finish through observational learning and training.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers in the studio and in the field.
- Research and pitch story ideas.
- Learn to produce a news segment from the control room.
- Operate camera equipment and learn about composition.
- Participate in hands-on training to understand news production.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, or be a recent graduate.
- Preferred majors include Journalism or Communications.
- Availability for approximately 10 to 15 hours per week.
