About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in journalism production across digital, radio, and television platforms. You will work with our news team to create, edit, and distribute stories while gaining insight into how a public media organization functions. You will collaborate across departments, including community engagement and video production, to support our daily news coverage.
What you'll do#
- Write briefs for newscasts and make calls to gather information for news stories.
- Attend press events, community gatherings, and other local events for coverage.
- Manage and maintain news content, including uploading files, updating metadata, and backing up digital assets.
- Brainstorm new topics, formats, and approaches to storytelling.
- Assist with daily news content creation and distribution.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college junior or senior, or graduation within the last six months.
- A major in journalism, video production, digital media, audio production, communications, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere or Audition.
- Ability to create engaging video or audio content for digital or broadcast platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience with Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop is preferred, as is a professional portfolio or demo reel.

- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027.
