About the role#
This is an unpaid, for-credit internship for the Winter 2027 semester. You will work on-site at the station for 12 to 15 hours per week. Schedules are flexible between Monday and Friday and will be determined with your supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with IT and engineering staff to maintain broadcast systems.
- Identify and resolve technical issues to ensure transmission reliability.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new software and services.
- Troubleshoot TVU live packs and live broadcast capabilities, including ENG and SAT trucks.
- Learn how a local newsroom operates and how different departments support one another.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college degree-granting program.
- Proof of enrollment in an internship course.
- Academic focus in Communications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in the design, construction, and operation of broadcast systems.
- Curiosity about live broadcast technologies and local news operations.
