About the role#
The News Internship program at KTVI/KPLR provides students with a hands-on learning experience within a local newsroom. This unpaid position is designed for students seeking to develop their skills in broadcast journalism and media production during the Fall 2026 semester.
What you'll do#
- Gain real-world experience by working directly with reporters, photojournalists, and producers.

- Follow instructions from station employees and adhere to all company safety procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding station data, trade secrets, and business information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a broadcast journalism, video production, or communications degree program.
- Ability to receive college credit for the internship.
- Advanced skill level to handle the complexity of assigned projects.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Previous internship experience is considered a plus.
