About the role#
The Hill is offering a full-time editorial internship for the summer of 2026. This role provides direct exposure to national politics and Congress, with opportunities for interns to contribute to major stories published on The Hill website and in print. This is an on-site position based in Washington, DC.
What you'll do#
- Write and report on national politics and Congressional activities.
- Assist reporters with assignments, including projects that require working from the Capitol.
- Perform clerical duties, such as supporting events hosted by The Hill.
- Manage in-town travel expenses related to work assignments.
- Engage in professional development and learning throughout the term.
What you'll need#
- Strong writing and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure.
- Familiarity with national politics and the workings of Congress.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to seeking assignments.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, or Media Studies.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May through August).
- Compensation: $17.95 per hour.
- Note: Interns are responsible for their own lodging and travel arrangements.
