The editorial internship at The Hill provides exposure to national politics and Congress. Interns gain experience working in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Write and report on national politics and Congress.
- Assist reporters with projects and assignments, including work at the Capitol.
- Complete clerical duties related to events hosted by The Hill.
- Manage in-town travel expenses for work assignments.
- Participate in learning and development activities throughout the internship.
What you'll need#
- Strong writing and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure.
- Familiarity with national politics and Congress.
- A self-motivated and proactive approach to seeking assignments.
- Current enrollment or background in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, or Media Studies.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May – August 2026).
- Compensation: $17.95 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
