Unpaid Programming Intern

About the role#

WFLA-TV/News Channel 8 offers a year-round internship program designed to provide students with firsthand experience in the television broadcasting industry. This program focuses on bridging the gap between academic study and professional practice, offering a supervised environment where students can contribute to projects while gaining insight into broadcasting operations and industry trends.

What you'll do#

• Apply classroom theory to practical, real-world tasks.
• Test creative talent and exercise analytical skills on assigned projects.
• Increase your understanding of broadcasting operations and current industry trends.
• Participate in a structured, meaningful learning experience.
• Complete a final internship evaluation through a written review with your supervisor.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a senior in your final year of study is preferred.
• The internship must be completed for school credit.
• Ability to handle advanced project complexity.
• A collaborative mindset and a strong willingness to learn.
• Previous internship experience is considered a plus.
