About the role#
DC News Now offers a digital internship for students looking to gain practical experience in broadcast media. This program provides an opportunity to explore career interests and learn how a television station operates. You will work in the News Department under the supervision of a manager to complete a 12-week program.
What you'll do#
- Attend news meetings.
- Transcribe interviews for staff.
- Assist reporters and producers with daily tasks.
- Research stories for both online and broadcast platforms.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to handle a variety of assignments.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Washington, District of Columbia.
- The internship requires 20 to 30 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
- This is an unpaid position. Interns do not receive wages, compensation, or benefits.
