About the role#
The Digital internship at DC News Now provides an opportunity to explore career interests within broadcast media. Interns gain practical work experience and establish professional contacts while learning the operations of a television station. This program is designed to meet academic and career goals through a supervised learning experience in the News Department.
What you'll do#
- Attend news meetings.
- Transcribe interviews.
- Assist reporters and producers with daily tasks.
- Research stories for both online and broadcast platforms.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to learn a variety of assignments and tasks.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 20 to 30 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Interns are not entitled to wages, compensation, or benefits.
