About the role#
The Institute for Sustainable Practice at Lipscomb Academy is hiring a student worker to assist with research, course coordination, and administrative tasks. This position requires 15 to 20 hours of work per week. You will manage your own schedule independently, though you must attend weekly check-in meetings. The role pays $20 per hour and may involve paid travel 2 to 3 times per year. You may be eligible for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Use online and library tools to find peer-reviewed research and materials on sustainability topics like renewable energy, green business, and building science.
- Plan travel itineraries for student and graduate courses.
- Coordinate with sustainability professionals to schedule them as guest teachers or hosts for study sites.
- Document and publish metrics related to study sites.
- Publish course content using platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, and Panopto.
- Use basic software including Google Sheets, Slides, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Lipscomb University student.
- Experience with basic literature reviews and research tasks.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Proficiency in interpreting written and graphic materials across disciplines like psychology, sociology, business, and engineering.
- A task-oriented mindset with the ability to meet deadlines.
