About the role#
This internship at DC News Now offers a practical learning experience within the News Department. The program is designed to help students understand how a television station operates and how sports content is developed and shared across digital and linear platforms. Interns will be supervised by a manager throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Attend newsroom meetings to observe the production process.
- Research stories for both digital and linear platforms.
- Gather video elements for news segments.
- Assist in transcribing interviews.
- Support reporters and producers with daily tasks.
- Participate in a meaningful learning experience tailored to academic and career goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, with a preference for majors in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Business Administration, or Political Science.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments and tasks.
- A collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: 20-30 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
