Human Resources Intern

About the role#

WIAT CBS 42 in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience in the daily operations and strategic functions of HR within a television station. This internship is designed to be educational and provides exposure across multiple HR disciplines through project participation and administrative support.

What you'll do#

• Assist with HR initiatives, employee programs, and process improvements.
• Conduct research and provide recommendations on HR best practices and trends.
• Support pre-boarding activities to ensure a smooth start for new employees.
• Manage documentation, including filing, record maintenance, and responding to employee and client inquiries.
• Draft internal communications and correspondence regarding HR policies and updates.

What you'll need#

• Current status as a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Development.
• Ability to work collaboratively and a willingness to learn.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to following all company safety rules and procedures.
