About the role#

This internship provides practical television experience within the newsroom at WHO 13. It is designed for college undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism.

What you'll do#

Assist at the assignment desk.
Learn the fundamentals of show production.
Assemble news packages.
Report stories for on-air broadcast.
Contribute content to online, mobile, and social media platforms.

What you'll need#

Minimum junior status at the start of the internship.
Strong interest in broadcast journalism.
Ability to report stories across multiple platforms.
Willingness to learn professional production techniques.
Current enrollment in a degree program such as Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.

Location: Des Moines, Iowa.
Work Modality: On-site.
Term: Rolling.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
