About the role#
WROC-TV and Rochesterfirst.com offer a part-time paid internship for undergraduate students through The New York State Broadcasters Association. This program provides an opportunity to see how a television station operates from the inside. You will gain hands-on experience across multiple departments and learn what it takes to produce a daily newscast.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through key departments including News Operations, Production, Creative Services, Digital Operations, and Engineering.
- Observe the collaborative process required to build and air a news program.
- Work a specified schedule while maintaining a professional standard.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 17 years old.
- Applicants should be residents of New York State or students attending school in New York.
- Strong writing and communication skills are required.
- You must have your own transportation and flexibility in your scheduled hours.
- The role requires business attire and a professional demeanor.
- All applicants must submit a resume and pass a background check.

- The position is on-site and part-time.
- The pay rate is $16.00 per hour.
