About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Summer Student for a 3-month temporary position in Sechelt, British Columbia. This role provides hands-on experience in an industrial environment within the wholesale building materials industry. The position is full-time and part of a unionized environment, where terms of employment are governed by the applicable collective agreement.
What you'll do#
- Assist with day-to-day operational, maintenance, and production-related tasks.
- Support safety, housekeeping, and site organization initiatives.
- Perform inspections, data collection, and basic administrative duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members to help achieve operational goals and project deadlines.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing studies in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Architecture.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and responsible work practices.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently when required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work in an industrial environment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Location: Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical examination and background check. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
