About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Mining Engineer Intern for a full-time, paid summer position in Flourtown, Pennsylvania. This role involves a mix of office and field work at an aggregate site. You will work alongside experienced engineers, managers, and production staff to support daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Support plant operations to help the team reach production goals.
- Complete technical projects to gain a practical understanding of quarry and aggregate site operations.
- Learn the specific missions of the production, maintenance, and quality departments.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior status in a Mining Engineering or Geology degree program. Students in Civil, Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering are also eligible.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to the team.
- Flexibility and an openness to changing priorities.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to motivate others and manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
