About the role#
This internship offers hands-on training and mentorship within quarry operations. You will work alongside professionals to gain practical experience in mine planning, equipment evaluation, and process optimization while contributing to ongoing projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop short, medium, and long-term mine plans, including pit shell designs, stripping plans, waste development, and reclamation strategies.
- Create life-of-mine plans featuring phased development schedules, milestones, and cost inputs.
- Prepare geological models and perform resource and reserve estimations.
- Provide design parameters and volume calculations to support capital and acquisition projects.
- Collaborate with regional management, geologists, project managers, and engineers to evaluate mineral quantity and quality.
- Ensure all mine plans comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company objectives.
What you'll need#
- Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a BS in Mining, Civil Engineering, or Geology.
- Experience with Carlson, AutoCAD, or other mining and geological software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, build professional relationships, and think strategically.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills with demonstrated initiative and adaptability.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer-focused performance.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
