About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a field setting. You will work on-site at a quarry or aggregate site to support production goals and learn how different departments operate. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Support plant operations to help reach production targets.
- Partner with engineers, managers, and production staff across various departments.
- Complete technical projects to build your understanding of quarry and aggregate site operations.
- Learn the specific missions of the production, maintenance, and quality departments.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior status in a Mining Engineering or Geology degree program. Students in Civil, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration are also encouraged to apply.
- A strong work ethic and high level of engagement.
- Flexibility and an openness to change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong skills in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for long periods, and perform manual labor.
Location & details#
- Location: Gordon, Texas.
- Work environment: A mix of office and field work with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Requirements: Use of personal protective equipment as needed.
