About the role#
The Office of University Advancement is seeking a Student Employee to support alumni engagement and donor relations. This position offers the opportunity to build professional communication skills while networking with alumni and donors. The role involves a mix of office-based tasks, remote assignments, and occasional evening or weekend event support.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate alumni engagement and outreach through social media campaigns.
- Research and compile alumni success stories for print, electronic, and social media channels.
- Assist with event preparation, execution, and tracking of event attendance.
- Work with the Donor Relations team to manage solicitations and donor gifts.
- Craft responses to general alumni inquiries, including correspondence for congratulations or condolences.
- Research and analyze marketing and communication strategies used by peer institutions.
- Coordinate the distribution of time-sensitive materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Chatham University.
- Experience with social media campaigns and digital engagement.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Interest in developing event planning and coordination capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with an alumni database.
- A desire to refine written and oral communication skills.
- Majors in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration are preferred.

- Note: Student employees may not work more than 20 hours per week across all campus jobs during the academic year and may not exceed 980 hours per calendar year.
