About the role#
The Broadcast Studio Student Assistant supports the daily operations of the Chatham University Broadcast Studio. This role involves assisting students, faculty, and staff with the rental and use of production equipment in a professional studio environment. This position is open to students in Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, and Civil Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for broadcast equipment using rental software.
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff utilizing the studio.
- Track, document, and coordinate repairs for damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Conduct inventory and perform general equipment upkeep.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization to ensure the space is ready for classes and projects.
- Enforce studio policies and procedures and perform light administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with peers, faculty, and staff.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
- An interest in film, television, or technology is helpful but not required.
