About the role#
The Broadcast Studio Student Assistant supports the daily operations of the Chatham University Broadcast Studio. This position is designed for students who want to gain hands-on experience in a professional studio environment while assisting the campus community with film, television, and production equipment.
What you'll do#
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for broadcast equipment using rental software.
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff using the studio and equipment.
- Track, document, and coordinate repairs for damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization to ensure the space is prepared for classes and student projects.
- Conduct equipment inventory and assist with general upkeep.
- Perform light administrative tasks and enforce studio policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with peers, faculty, and staff.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently when necessary.
- An interest in film, television, or technology is helpful but not required.

- Term: Rolling.
- Eligibility: Open to students in Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Business Administration, or Psychology. Students may not work more than 20 hours per week combined across all campus jobs during the academic year.
