About the role#
The Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources (OAAR) Student Assistant supports the office in providing accommodations to students with disabilities. This role works directly under the director to receive training and task assignments. This position is limited in nature and tied to specific individual accommodations or situations. All applicants must be pre-approved by the OAAR.
What you'll do#
- Assist the OAAR in providing accommodations to students.
- Collaborate with the director on assigned tasks and training.
- Promote multicultural understanding and intercultural competence on campus.
- Notify other campus managers if holding multiple student positions.
- Adhere to the 20-hour weekly limit for combined campus employment and the 980-hour annual work limit.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Chatham University.
- Ability to provide assistance to students with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-discipline and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Preferred majors include Psychology, Human Resources, or Public Health.
