OAAR Student Assistant - ADA 26-27

About the role#

The OAAR Student Assistant supports the Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources in providing necessary accommodations to students with disabilities. This position works directly under the director, who provides training and assigns specific tasks. This role is limited in nature and tied to individual student accommodations.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources with accommodation services.
• Collaborate with the director on assigned tasks and training.
• Promote multicultural understanding and intercultural competence across campus.
• Coordinate with other campus managers if holding multiple student positions.
• Monitor your own schedule to ensure compliance with maximum work hour limits.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at Chatham University.
• Ability to provide effective assistance to students with disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-discipline and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Location & details#

• Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Modality: On-site.
• Work Schedule: Maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year; maximum of 980 hours per calendar year.
• Note: This position requires pre-approval by the OAAR and does not automatically roll over to subsequent academic terms.
