About the role#
Chatham University is seeking a Student Athletic Training Assistant to support the athletic training staff. This position provides hands-on experience in athletic training and sports management while ensuring the athletic training facility operates efficiently. This is a paid, on-site role open to students majoring in Kinesiology, Nutrition, or Psychology.
What you'll do#
- Support the athletic training staff by performing tasks to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient environment.
- Maintain the athletic training facility by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, treatment tables, and common areas.
- Assist with administrative duties including inventory management, scheduling, and processing secondary insurance claims.
- Prepare student-athletes for appointments and coordinate game day and practice setups.
- Contribute to the operation of athletic events by assisting with the setup and teardown at various facilities.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the athletic training staff.

- Passion for sports and an interest in gaining hands-on experience in athletic training.
- Proactive and organized approach to working in a sports environment.
- Ability to handle administrative tasks such as inventory and scheduling.
- Capability to assist with the physical requirements of event setup and teardown.
Location & details#
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Hours: Students may not work more than 20 hours per week combined across all campus jobs during the academic year and may not exceed 980 hours per calendar year.
- Requirements: Applicants must provide a current class schedule, resume, cover letter, and details of other commitments including internships, jobs, or lab sessions.
