About the role#
The Rutgers University Foundation is looking for an organized student to join the Communications team as a Social Media Intern. You will interact directly with the Rutgers community, handle administrative tasks, and assist with content production. This is a part-time, paid position that offers a hybrid work arrangement.
What you'll do#
- Monitor social media channels to answer community questions and collect user-generated stories.
- Assist with photo and video content creation for organic posts and event coverage.
- Manage social listening and content mining tasks.
- Analyze reports to identify themes for future social media strategy.
- Organize content tags in Sprout Social and maintain a tracking spreadsheet for influencers.
- Schedule content and tag partners as needed.
- Lead the coding and tracking of social media activity.
- Maintain creative assets, templates, and files within Canva.
- Pull performance analytics and manage Affinaquest tracking.
- Update YouTube video thumbnails, end screens, formatting, and links.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current or former Rutgers University student.
- Preference is given to students pursuing or holding degrees in Communications or Marketing.
- Ability to maintain focus while managing multiple projects.
Location & details#
- This role is based in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
- The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring time in the office between one and five days per week depending on team needs.
- You may occasionally work evenings or weekends to support resource-raising commitments.
