CAS Student Assistant

About the role#

The College of Arts & Sciences at Chatham University is seeking a Student Assistant to support the office of Dean MacNeil. This role involves managing daily administrative operations and assisting with departmental communications. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a rolling term.

What you'll do#

• Answer phones and greet office visitors.
• Handle clerical duties including filing, copying, typing, and database management.
• Prepare mailings and deliver interoffice mail.
• Perform general office maintenance.
• Compose and manage social media posts for the College of Arts & Sciences.
• Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Dean or Office Coordinator.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel, and familiarity with myChatham.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling official records.

• Location: Pittsburgh, PA.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Employment Type: Part-time (maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year).
• Eligibility: Open to students pursuing majors in Communications, Business Administration, or Psychology.
