Summer University Advancement Student Employee

About the role#

The Office of University Advancement is seeking a student employee to support alumni engagement and donor relations. This role involves working closely with staff to facilitate outreach, assist with event coordination, and manage administrative communications. This position is open to students pursuing degrees in Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Psychology, or Business Administration.

What you'll do#

• Create and maintain a social media campaign designed to engage alumni.
• Research and compile alumni success stories for print, electronic, and social media channels.
• Draft responses to general alumni inquiries, including condolence or congratulatory letters and event registrations.
• Develop a working knowledge of the alumni database to track solicitations, gifts, and event attendance.
• Create and coordinate the distribution of time-sensitive materials.
• Research and analyze marketing and communication strategies used by peer institutions.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current Chatham University student.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and engagement strategies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Modality: Hybrid, with a mix of office days, remote work, and occasional evening or weekend event responsibilities.
• Status: Paid, part-time position.
