About the role#
As a Humanities Student Assistant at Chatham University, you will support faculty and staff in the daily operations of the Humanities department. This on-site position provides an opportunity to work closely with department leadership, gain professional experience, and contribute to the academic community. The role is designed to evolve based on the skills and interests you bring to the team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with administrative tasks including copying, scanning, filing, managing inter-office mail, and maintaining the organization of Lindsay House.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to plan, promote, and execute department events, workshops, and information sessions, including managing logistics and registration.
- Create and share content for department social media channels and program email newsletters.
- Engage with the student body through outreach activities, classroom presentations, and partnerships with student organizations to promote the Humanities department.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a student in a relevant field such as Communications, Human Resources, Psychology, Political Science, or Philosophy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty and staff.
- Effective communication skills for peer-to-peer engagement.
- Experience with social media and newsletter content creation.
- A demonstrated interest in event management and promotion.

- This is a non-paid position. Students may not work more than 20 hours per week across all campus jobs during the academic year.
