Summer Global Engagement Student Assistant

About the role#

The Summer Global Engagement Student Assistant supports the Office of Global Engagement at Chatham University. This position involves assisting with summer initiatives, event planning, and preparation for new international student orientation and the upcoming academic year. This role is based on-site at the Shadyside campus in Falk Hall.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Director and Coordinator of Global Engagement to execute office activities and events.
• Manage office communications, including designing and posting content for social media.
• Prepare materials for events, such as handouts and presentations, and provide logistical support.
• Respond to verbal and written inquiries from both current and prospective students.
• Assist staff with processing applications and supporting materials for Chatham field experience programs, Chatham Semester, and Chatham International Internships.
• Update program materials for upcoming academic terms.

What you'll need#

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• An interest in learning about other cultures.
• Ability to assist with program office communications and event execution.
• While no prior experience is required, students who have traveled or studied abroad, as well as international students, are encouraged to apply.
• Preferred majors include Communications, International Relations, and Psychology.
