About the role#
Caltrans is hiring a student assistant to support the Office of Project Delivery Professional Development. You will work under the supervision of the Chief and staff to help manage divisional guidance, manuals, and policy. This role offers the chance to gain experience in document management and learning content coordination.
What you'll do#
- Locate, identify, and track existing and proposed directives and manuals.
- Document website layouts and content to assist with maintenance.
- Create flowcharts, tables, spreadsheets, and data visualizations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as LMS course management and procurement justifications.
- Attend staff meetings and help organize project coordination meetings.
- Support the development and coordination of learning content.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution on our affiliation list.
- Minimum enrollment of six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduates, or four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
- A minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to research, track information, and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Sacramento, California.
- The work modality is hybrid.
- This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited position.
- Students generally work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- You must reside and perform all work within the state of California.
