About the role#
The Chatham Choir Student Assistant/Accompanist supports the choral director with daily operations and ensemble production. This position is split between two primary focuses: managing the choral library and music organization, and handling event marketing, social media, and student recruiting.
What you'll do#
- Assist the choral director with the day-to-day rehearsal process.
- Lead sectionals for choir members.
- Organize and distribute music for rehearsals and performances.
- Maintain the choral library records and structure.
- Support event marketing, student recruiting, and event execution.
What you'll need#
- Ability to read music and knowledge of choral octavo scores.
- Experience or interest in administrative choral organization.
- Availability during Chatham Choir rehearsals on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
- Ability to commit to additional hours for concerts and events.
- Majors in Communications, Media Studies, Art, Graphic Design, or Psychology are preferred.

- This role is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- The work modality is on-site.
- This is a paid, part-time position.
- The term is rolling, though student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
- Students may not work more than 20 hours per week across all campus jobs during the academic year.
