About the role#
The Climate Engagement Extern supports the communications, content creation, and outreach initiatives for Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. This role focuses on the Climate Toolkit and the Youth Climate Advocacy Committee (YCAC). You will work with the communications team to develop content, manage social media, and coordinate with partners on environmental mission-based projects.
What you'll do#
- Support communications for climate outreach programs, including the Climate Toolkit, YCAC, and EcoLeader Academy.
- Write and edit blog posts focused on sustainability projects and initiatives.
- Assist with organizing webinars by researching partner initiatives and coordinating logistics.
- Maintain the YCAC Instagram account to engage the online youth community.
- Conduct outreach to potential speakers and partners.
- Manage and share updates via LinkedIn and newsletters.
- Brainstorm content and learn the website content management system.
What you'll need#
- Current Federal Work Study award eligibility.
- Interest in sustainability, communications, writing, and climate/environmental issues.
- Academic background in fields such as Environmental Engineering, Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Business Administration, or Political Science.

- Compensation: Paid position at $11 per hour.
